Which is to say a Small Dinger using Cointreau instead of grenadine. The same cocktail is to be found in Ciro's cocktail manual from the same year (although the recipe of the same name in the 1937 'Café Royal Cocktail Book' adds orange juice and caloric punch). I tried one last night but for my money it doesn't quite work, and I found myself adding some grenadine anyway to get the right balance of sweet and sour.
